Masquerade Intern Showcase: Meet the artists!
8.2.2024
The Masquerade Interns Present: A Summer Send-Off Showcase! As our interns are working hard on their upcoming show this August 4th, now is the perfect time to get to know a little about our featured acts, including The Outfield Clovers, Janie Danger, Over Anna, and Anslee Davidson! Don’t miss them this Sunday, August 4th, in Altar to close out another amazing ATL summer.
The Outfield Clovers
Shortly after their 2022 graduation, high school friends Ryan McMeans (vocals and bass), James Coyne (drums), and Jonathan Langston (guitar and vocals) began recording and releasing music as the Outfield Clovers. Since then, they’ve been steadily dropping new singles and carving out their place in the Atlanta scene. Their music, which blends classic emo, post-punk, and indie rock sounds, has a raw power and emotion to it that has allowed them to thrive. As their catalog has continued to grow, so has their fanbase. These days, they have (mostly) graduated from local basements and backyards to stages, and their recent shows are more packed out than ever.
Janie Danger
Janie Danger is a singer-songwriter from Atlanta with a unique sound featuring hyperpunk and energetic rock elements. She makes music for those looking for a quick escape from the mundanity of life. Janie’s 2nd album, East Atlanta Sober, was released in June 2024 and is dedicated to “The girls with bad attitudes and the customers with worse tips,” as well as everyone that has helped Janie become the rockstar she is now. It’s a bedroom-punk, grunge album for those who dream of better days ahead.

Over Anna & their newest single, “SDBW.”
Fans of female-fronted bands like Meet Me @ The Altar and Honey Revenge should be running to Spotify to check out emo quartet Over Anna’s new single “SDBW,” released on July 12. With a fun, funky bassline and relatable lyrics, lead singer Jaz’s bright vocals shine through on what appears to be the second single of a hopefully upcoming EP – indicated by identical cover art to the band’s single “Hustle & Foe,” which came out in May.
“SDBW” is Over Anna’s sixth single since their formation in 2022, and they seem to have grown even more confident in their sound since their debut, “And They Were Roommates.” Their music continues to be as upbeat and energetic as ever, and that spirit shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
Get to know the band more on their Instagram and Tiktok, where you’ll meet the band members (none of whom are actually named Anna) and hear more of their music!
Anslee Davidson
Country singer/songwriter Anslee Davidson has been on the rise to stardom since her appearance on the 2020 season of American Idol, where she won herself a golden ticket at 16 years old. Though her dreams were put on hold due to Covid-19, Anslee has continued to shine. Since her debut, she has been performing shows at historic venues like the Opry Plaza and the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, as well as releasing her debut EP in 2022 titled Letters to Home. Most recently, her 2023 release titled “Made Me” reached over 1 million streams since its release as well as a top spot on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Country Playlist. The EP features songs like “Half the Man,” “Everything I’m Missing,” and, of course, the title track and her most popular release, “Made Me.” Her most recent release, “Just Leave,” is a classic country love song featuring melodic guitar solos, acoustic breakdowns, and Anslee’s soulful voice, bringing the lyrics to life; the song has become a must-listen on any country playlist.
Anslee is a Greensboro, GA native, though she currently resides in Nashville as a freshman at Belmont University’s esteemed songwriting program. By sharing her songwriting process online, her TikTok page has garnered over 165k followers and 4 million likes. While Anslee has had her fair share of successes, she remains humble and family-oriented, doing a majority of her songwriting with her father, David Davidson. She also frequently performs around her home state of Georgia with other local artists like Kelsey Lee and even bigger names like Kristian Bush of Sugarland.
At just 19 years old, Anslee’s music reflects her strong sense of identity, and a powerful message about living life to the fullest. As her career continues to bloom, she is definitely one to watch.
