In the ten years since the release of his debut album, indie singer-songwriter Will Wood has played the roles of drug-addled shock jockey, cryptic art-rock recluse, self-deprecating chamber-pop balladeer, and storytelling alt-comic—all with paradoxically equal parts authenticity and theatricality.

While many artists might conform to industry expectations after an unexpected viral moment, the cult singer-songwriter has remained defiantly himself. On stage, Wood’s emotive storytelling and stand-up seamlessly intertwine with his ever-evolving musical style, defying convention. When performing with his band, his raucous “Tapeworms” concerts are just as unconventional.

Now, as he embarks on the Mr. Wood Is Dead 10-year anniversary tour, he’s bringing both solo performances and full-band shows to larger audiences than ever before.
