PINKNOISE

Bio

“PINKNOISE is exactly who I am and that means for me to tell my story as raw and authentically as possible,” Kacey Foxx declares when dissecting the core mission behind their genre-bending musical project PINKNOISE that has taken the music world by storm in the span of just one year since the release of their debut single “NEVER LAST.” In other words, PINKNOISE is the vehicle for Foxx to be fearlessly and unapologetically themselves, both sonically and lyrically, with no limitations in sight. Whether they are seamlessly weaving high-octane metalcore, djent and pummeling breakdowns with stunning R&B-inflected vocal performances and infectious pop hooks, Foxx is well aware that PINKNOISE works best when rules are broken and risks are taken.

These artistic risks have seemingly paid off in more ways than one for PINKNOISE, having amassed over a million streams across DSPs, hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, and scoring a record deal with the renowned label Nettwerk Music Group. However, beyond these impressive metrics of success, perhaps the most pivotal reward for Foxx has been the impact they’ve had on their legions of fans, who look to them as a beacon of representation for the LGBTQIA+ community in an often disproportionately male-dominated music scene.

Without a doubt, PINKNOISE’s secret weapon is their unique, trailblazing, and forward-thinking ideals that not only set them apart but leave listeners—new and old alike—clamoring for more in a scene that has been pleading for fresh voices. “I’m very different from the norm,” Foxx says with conviction, adding, “I’m not the cookie-cutter metalcore rockstar, I’m very Out There. While some people are not going to like that [about me], I think that’s my purpose — to be here and to make a lot of noise.”

While Foxx admits they have experienced their fair share of judgment and skeptics in the year since they launched PINKNOISE, it doesn’t take long for those who “judged a book by the cover” to metaphorically eat their own words and concede that what PINKNOISE is doing musically is simply undeniable. “That’s the most rewarding thing for me,” Foxx says. More importantly, they hope their music can help reset judgmental minds and create a world where people can be who they truly are and not care what others think.

Case in point: the meaning behind PINKNOISE—a musical world, more or less, that Foxx created in honor of their favorite color, pink—which is featured in all of their art direction and even extends to Foxx’s signature hairstyle. The pink world that Foxx has created for their music also pays respect to the LGBTQIA+ community and iconic symbols and flags as a whole, but make no mistake: all are welcome in the PINKNOISE ecosystem as long as you come with an open mind and leave any judgment at the door. “I want to build a more kind and positive world. I don’t want my fanbase to be a toxic fanbase. I want people to just come to a PINKNOISE show and support each other, lock in, and sing these songs loud as fuck!”

Upon linking up with their longtime collaborator Hiram Hernandez (As I Lay Dying, Magnolia Park, Call Me Karizma), Foxx and Hernandez wasted no time crafting the songs that ultimately make up their debut EP, HUMAN=KIND. The EP embodies Foxx’s formative influences, ranging from rock in the vein of Nickelback and Staind, to Nu Metal classics like Slipknot and Linkin Park, all the way to the glory days of early 2000s R&B. Those influences include “their first love” Britney Spears, Destiny’s Child, NSYNC, and even Justin Bieber—all filtered through a sleek and modern sound. “I’ve walked through many different genres throughout life, but when I sing, that’s where the R&B side really comes from — I don’t want there to be a limit on what I can and can’t sing,” Foxx states.

More than anything, Foxx wants the music of PINKNOISE to be memorable and impactful. “I want people to be able to dance to my music or be angry to my music because that’s what life is: it’s a mixture of emotions, and that’s what every song brings to the table,” Foxx says with confidence as they approach the release of their debut EP HUMAN=KIND. While PINKNOISE’s rapid ascent to the top has been a surreal ride to say the least, with new music on the way and plans to dominate the touring circuit, it’s only a matter of time before they reach their next destination: straight to the stars.
