Cannelle

Bio

As chic as she is raucous, Cannelle is a fierce new voice at the vanguard of pop’s blossoming left-field electronic scene. The 23-year-old Aix-en-Provence-born, Los Angeles-based artist’s glitter-encrusted music has captivated in-the-know listeners since her musical debut in 2024. Initially finding her audience online, Cannelle’s early-Tumblr-era upbringing informed her DIY surrealist visuals, pastels, and feminine interiority, while her sonic palette was influenced by artists from the early Ed Banger days, each shaping her understanding of what it meant to be composed and campy in one enthralling, club-ready package. Accented by her icy-blue hair, Cannelle’s always-striking fashion and innate sense of style led to an early and established career in modeling that’s seen her work with Valentino, Marc Jacobs, and Rimowa, as well as land impactful high-fashion editorials in Schön Magazine and King Kong Magazine. Recentering her focus on music, she’s since gone on to thrill French and international fans alike with melt-in-your-mouth pop earworms like “CLOVER”, “DIAMOND CUTS”, “FILLE”, and “MP3”, while landing opening slots for Ninajirachi and performing B2B with umru at Palomosa Festival. Her debut mixtape, CINNA, released in June, encompasses a collection of avant-garde electronic pop sounds co-produced with fellow trendsetters Chicken, Oscar Scheller, and Warpstr, as Cannelle joins a global movement of artists like Rosalía celebrating their heritage by singing bilingually and proving that language is no barrier to connection. Highlighted by music videos shot across Paris, London, Los Angeles, and Japan, the visual world surrounding the project is equally deliberate, united by surrealist storytelling and the same DIY pastel aesthetic that runs through everything she makes. Following the release of CINNA, Cannelle has performed in New York, Paris, and Tokyo, including a sold-out headline show at Market Hotel in Brooklyn and an opening spot for Nia Archives at Alexandra Palace in London on November 26, and has announced her six-date European CINNA TOUR, beginning August 29 in Barcelona and including two dates supporting Argentine artist Six Sex. As one of the few Black women working at the intersection of electroclash and French pop music at an international level, Cannelle isn’t waiting for a seat at the table. She’s building her world herself.
