Niontay

Bio

Rapper/producer Niontay brings an enigmatic style to the underground rap scene. The Milwaukee-born, Florida-bred wordsmith has captured the attention of rap heads across the world, rising to prominence as a key member of the MIKE-founded independent label and collective 10K Global with his 2023 breakout project Dontay’s Inferno. His ability to incorporate the diverse styles of the regions he’s lived in: the brash humor of high-tempo Milwaukee rap, the rapid fire flow switches of Florida rap, and the conceptual introspective cool of the New York underground, makes him a true original that stands out amongst his contemporaries. Praise from Pitchfork, High Times, Stereogum, and The Washington Post proved he was turning heads. Tracks such as the hypnotic blur of effortless wordplay “Thank Allah” made him a name to watch. But it was the infectious southern bounce paired with the confident bars of “Da City of a Hunnid Plays”  and stealing the spotlight from some of the best lyricists in the game on “Real hiphop,” the posse cut with MIKE, El Cousteau and Earl Sweatshirt, that solidified him as one of the hottest rappers out of New York. Decisive features on MIKE’s “Mussel Beach” and “2k24 Tour” grew his prowess, but now, Niontay is ready to realize his potential and level up from a red-hot prospect to one of the best rappers alive. His debut album, Fada<3of$, acts as a proving ground as Niontay unleashes his astute ability to blend all styles of rap, switching effortlessly between flows to create an expedition of wordplay. The triumphant album, primarily self-produced with contributions from Tony Seltzer, Jadasea, SURF GANG’s Harrison and others, asserts that he’s ready to step up as a young leader for the 10K movement and new school underground.
