The Royal Turns

Bio

With classic inspirations like Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty, The Royal Turns have forged a familiar but fresh sound merging rock’n’roll with folk, blues, and pop influences. Since their formation in 2016, the Atlanta band’s guitar-driven instrumentation and rich vocal arrangements have turned heads amongst listeners. A video of their rendition of “The Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel went viral in the fall of 2016, gaining over a million views and inciting a significant following across social media.

On August 10, 2017, The Royal Turns released their debut single, “On the Run.” Featuring delicate vocal harmonies and wistful guitar lines, the track hinted at the caliber of music that could be expected from a larger studio project and left fans itching for more. This single release coincided with the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for the recording of a five-track EP. With over $6,500 raised, the project was successfully funded, allowing The Royal Turns to go into the studio and complete their first collection of original material.

Their debut EP, “Empty Hands,” was released on May 4th, 2018. They are currently promoting the release with shows throughout the Southeast, working on material for a full-length album, and cultivating their unique sound with ever-growing introspection and experimentation.
