Bio

Quicksand is a legendary American post-hardcore band formed in 1990.  Hailing from New York City, the band’s current lineup consists of Walter Schreifels (vocals and guitar), Sergio Vega (bass), and Alan Cage (drums).

 

Quicksand gained recognition in the early ’90s for their unique blend of alternative rock, punk, and metal, delivering powerful and emotionally charged music. One of their most celebrated albums, “Slip,” was released in 1993 and is considered a seminal record in the post-hardcore genre.  “Slip” showcases Quicksand’s signature sound, characterized by dynamic and intricate guitar work, driving basslines, and intense yet melodic vocals. The album’s introspective lyrics resonate with listeners, touching on themes of self-discovery, personal struggle, and societal pressures.

 

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of “Slip,” Quicksand is embarking on celebratory dates this Fall.  Fans can expect an electrifying live experience as the band revisits the album’s influential tracks, including fan favorites like “Fazer,” “Dine Alone,” and the title track, “Slip.”

 

Over the years, Quicksand has left an indelible mark on the music scene, inspiring numerous bands and artists with their distinctive sound and raw energy.
