Pure Intruders was formed in the Spring of 2020 when Madeline Julia Smith and Brandon Suarez disbanded from their Chicago five-piece band Our Fathers. The duo invited their long time friend and bassist Jonathan Noel into their new project, warranted by their natural chemistry and similar love of classic Soul and Disco. The trio began to write and record demos in the vein of 70’s Disco infused with modern Indie-Pop, eventually incorporating elements of 60’s Bossa Nova, jazz and R&B into their sound. Their eclectic collection of influences captures the nostalgia of an era while pursuing uncharted pop territory with studious style and sophistication. The band eventually recruited guitarist Arren Hunter and drummer Justin Oram to complete their live sound.
