When Josef moves to LA from his hometown of New Orleans he’s only got one thing in mind: making art. Similarly, after years of quietly producing some of the most prominent figures in the LA hip-hop and R&B scene, Niko is finally confronting the prospect of taking center stage. Meeting at a pivotal moment in their lives, they spend countless hours locked in the studio, exchanging ideas and trying out new concepts. In this process, lasting the good part of the last two years, they both endure life-changing experiences which will become the main drivers and themes for their joint project, Merci, which they are performing live for the first time.

The project is a time capsule: a journey into the artists’ self discovery process that touches on themes of vulnerability, grief, and is a testament to the power of forgiveness in overcoming personal and generational traumas. Hence the title – Merci, officially releasing on February 21st. The music merges hip-hop sampled drum breaks, live instrumentation, and soulful harmonies, and together with Josef’s outstanding storytelling ability and vivid lyrical imagery, and Niko’s clever musical intuitions, the EP provides an immersive listening experience for every true music lover.
