Raising the bar as an emerging emcee with his captivating word play and distinguished flow, South Central native and now Dreamville artist Cozz has secured his place in the industry by garnering the attention of artists and fans alike. Discovering his passion to rap a year before releasing his first demo tape “Cozz and Effect”, Cozz has solidified a name for himself and his craft with his West Coast originality.

 

Embracing a sound that seats him in a class of his own, Cozz’s skill and unique LA feel gained him the attention of rapper J.Cole, later recruiting him as the newest artist on the  Dreamville label in 2014. Recognizing the high quality and replay value of his demo tape, Dreamville later decided to release ‘Cozz and Effect’ to be packaged and distributed for sale.

 

By 2016, Cozz crafted his first free mixtape under the Dreamville label titled “Nothing Personal”. Incorporating the talents of his self- owned label ‘Tha Committee’, the project featured full production from label housed producer Meez, as well as appearances from label acts Corey C and Free Ackrite.

 

In 2017 Cozz was working diligently on his debut studio album, Effected, released on Feb 13th, 2018. With a majority of the production handled by Cozz’s producer Meez also includes tracks from Louie Ji, Cardiak, TaeBeast and Soul Professa. Cozz calls on a few of his favorite rappers in Curren$y and Kendrick Lamar along with J.Cole for feature verses on the project. It landed to rave reviews from fans and critics as Cozz had finally given them the project everyone was longing for.

 

Now stacking a resume that boasts top tier performances Cozz’s rising talent has secured him sets on the stages of prominent festivals such as Lollapalooza, Day N Nite Fest, Brooklyn Hip Hop Fest and Made in America. Acquired by an undeniable appeal, Cozz’s demand later earned him an opportunity to perform sold out shows and arenas on J.Cole’s “2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour” as well as label mate Bas’s “Too High to Riot Tour” for both the US and International leg.
