Bio

Kevin Scott is a versatile and modern bassist known for his ability to thrive in both structured sessions and freeform improvisation. Originally from Dothan, Alabama, he was inspired by Colonel Bruce Hampton to move to Atlanta, where he became a key figure in the city’s music scene. His career has taken him through New York City and New Orleans, collaborating with an impressive roster of artists, including Wayne Krantz, Jimmy Herring, Donny McCaslin, John McLaughlin, and Bernard Purdie. His passion for improvisation is evident in his long-running Atlanta jam sessions and his work with Wednesday Night Titans, a multimedia duo with drummer Zach Danziger.

In 2023, he joined Gov’t Mule, bringing his dynamic energy to their live shows and recordings. Now based in Nashville, Kevin continues to push musical boundaries across jazz, rock, fusion, and experimental music, cementing his reputation as a sought-after performer and session player.
