The Keepsake

Bio

“Though there’s no denying that a great number of aspiring young bands have attempted to recapture the urgency and visceral power of 2000’s emo and post hardcore, few have managed to do it well. The Keepsake is one of those blessed few.
Formed in 2016 by lead singer and primary lyricist Barry Shelton, The Keepsake offers listeners a refined and updated take on the kind of music that, to many, defined a generation. Paying reverant homage to influences such as The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Underoath, Silverstein, and My Chemical Romance, though never failing to remain true to their own unique and definitively modern vision, the sextet – composed of Shelton, guitarists Alex Norrell and Cody Ingram, bassist Chase Cowan, keyboardist Kit Savvy and drummer Bobby Ayers – plays straight from the heart.
If there’s one quality that ultimately defines the band, it’s passion. The Keepsake possesses that unmistakable, inexplicable, and all-consuming drive which is the mark of any truly great group. They demonstrate an earnest, intense desire to create something meaningful and share it with the world, continually seeking new ways to grow and improve, both as musicians and as human beings. For this reason, they’ve quickly established themselves as one of the most beloved acts in the Atlanta music scene, boasting a considerable and ever-expanding fanbase.”
