Sizzy Rocket

Bio

Sin City born Sizzy Rocket is the cool best friend you wish you had growing up – the one who doused herself in glitter and moved to New York after graduation to start a punk band. Sizzy’s work with top tier producers and a brief stint at NYU’s Clive Davis School of Music landed her a publishing deal with Universal Music Group at just 20 years old. Since then, she has written with the likes of Hey Violet, Diplo, Avril Lavigne, Oak, Bea Miller, JR Rotem, Flosstradamus, and Run the Jewels. Sizzy’s bold, story-telling lyrics recently caught the attention of Matoma – she penned his most current single “Slow” with Noah Cyrus, which has racked up over 10,000,000 streams in less than three months.
In 2016 Sizzy Rocket released her debut full-length album THRILLS to a sudden swarm of screaming teenaged girls, now aptly named “the cult”. The lead single “Bestie” was called an “unfairly catchy pop song” by New York Magazine and reached top 20 on Spotify’s UK Viral Chart. The follow up, surprise mixtape Hot Summer, dropped in 2017 via Popcrush with a series of DIY music videos and riot girrrl-inspired zines and essays – it even received a nod from feminist punk icon Kathleen Hanna.
When she’s not trading fan mail with “the cult”, Sizzy is either on the road or building her own independent record label, Diet Punk. She continues to play packed houses in both LA and NYC, and will frequently hop on tour to support rock n’roll wild child KITTEN. In February, she wrapped a west coast run with Pitchfork darling, Shamir Bailey.
Sizzy Rocket’s newest EP, Mulholland, was released in February. The title track was featured on some of Spotify’s most popular playlists including New Music Friday. Sizzy is gearing up to release new music this summer 2018!
