Brooklyn R&B single, Alex Mali is doing things a little different this year unveiling a new sound she has titled Drill&B, she is ready to claim her spot as Brooklyn’s princess of R&B. Produced by The Breed, the appropriately titled new single “Addicted” bangs with familiar New York sound that has previously been made popular and reserved for rappers like Fivio and the late Pop Smoke. As native born and raised in Carnarsie, Alex Mali wants to show people that the sound has far reaching influence beyond rap music.

Alex never stopped working during the pandemic. Last year, she released a critically acclaimed EP mid pandemic and slew of music videos that primed her for an amazing 2021 and an even better 2022. Her sophomore EP “Phenom” has contributed significantly to the 30+ million streams she has accumulated in her short career. And through that release she fell in love with East Coast production duo, The Breed, who have since produced her last two single 5 Star which premiered on the “Adult Swim” festival and “In Your Arms” the sensual ballad that earned its place on key playlist like Alternative R&B and The Newness on Spotify, New In R&B on Apple Music and Fresh R&B on Amazon.

Alex Mali gained popularity around the release of her debut EP “Sweet & Sour” with tracks like “Obviously” and “Start It Up” achieving viral moments and still a fan fave til today. In 2020, her visibility evolved with her falling on the radar of tastemakers like Preme Magazine, Nylon and Refinery29. She was eager to put the ails of quarantine behind her with a slew of singles including “Addicted” and her latest release “Iconic”. She ended 2021 with a slew of sold out dates with Phony PPL and most recent appearance in her hometown for Afropunk Brooklyn.
